This certification is geared toward more experienced technicians. A minimum of two years in the traffic signal field is required. Description
The Traffic Signal II Certification signifies that the holder possesses operational knowledge and hands-on experience that provide a solid foundation in traffic signal technology.
The IMSA Traffic Signal II certification demonstrates the technician's extensive training in evaluating traffic signal control systems, on-site repairs, and maintenance techniques and tools.
The exam topics covered include - advanced controller programming, signal maintenance, traffic signal operations and equipment standards, and detection, communication installation and troubleshoot, basic networking, document preparation, testing of equipment, and troubleshooting.
Whether they work for a private company or a government organization, those who hold the certification are ready to contribute significantly to the upkeep and repair of signalized intersections.
Prerequisites
Current IMSA Traffic Signal Technician I.
Two years of experience is required in the field of traffic operations.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Students holding a non-IMSA Work Zone are required to upload their certificate to their IMSA profile for review and approval. Florida students can continue to submit the FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (or higher), ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor, etc.
