WHO WE ARE

APA is a privately owned company, and our staff has been in the transportation infrastructure industry for almost 20 years. We are independently owned and operated but have working relationships with organizations like the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA), The Fiber Optics Association (FOA), Techtricians, and more.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our primary mission is to motivate, inspire, and inform essential workers in the transportation infrastructure industry through teaching, training, and certification but our vision is to reinvent the certification/training experience not just for the student but for the industry as a whole.

GOALS

The first phase of our plan is to begin upgrading and redesigning how certification programs are being delivered. Traditionally, training programs are done over 2-3 days with a manual being read to the students, but studies show that this is one of the least effective learning methods. At APA we know that true learning requires a different approach. With your help we plan to offer an interactive experience with hands-on labs and access to real world materials (signal boxes, controllers, etc.) for a truly engaging experience.

ABOUT ME

So, I'm the head lunatic at this particular asylum :D I've been working in the transportation infrastructure industry in one form or fashion for over 18 years and until recently I was running the Safety Department at a local not-for profit. I'm proud to say that while I was there I helped make that little not-for-profit one of world's largest providers of IMSA programs and unless my students were lying to me - we were likely one of the most highly rated providers too :D I'm hoping I can do the same thing for this company (especially since it's my company :)

Most days I absolutely love my job and really enjoy helping my students get the certifications that move them up in their company or help them get raises... other days I need more coffee :)
