Helping You Navigate Certification Body Requirements
The policies and procedures outlined on this page are established by external certification bodies. About Phase Academy does not set these policies but provides guidance to help students understand how they apply within the certification process. Our goal is to help students navigate requirements, timelines, fees, and system changes as clearly and efficiently as possible.
From paperwork to renewal, we're with you every step of the way so you can focus on leaning, not logistics.
This page outlines the policies and procedures established by external certification bodies. About Phase Academy does not create or control these policies; however, we provide guidance to help students understand how they apply within the certification process.
Our goal is to help students navigate requirements, timelines, fees, and system changes as clearly and efficiently as possible—so there are no surprises along the way.
If you have any questions, comments, or need assistance at any point, we’re always here to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
🟥 IMSA Policy & Procedures (Click to Expand)
To avoid issues with renewals or accidental exam enrollments, please review these updates first.
IMSA Updates Are Now Live! Help us help you – please review the policy changes before scheduling students.
IMSA has rolled out a series of new rules — covering how students are enrolled, who may contact IMSA (and who may not), and when fees apply. A quick review of the current processes and the new changes will help keep everything running smoothly and avoid unnecessary complications 😊
If you suspect you need ANY help at all … just remember:
I’m fast 👟 I’m friendly 🫂 I drink coffee ☕☕☕☕
🟥 IMSA’s “Prohibition Era” – Who Can Contact IMSA About Exam Results?
Welcome to the Roaring 20’s: IMSA’s Prohibition Era – APA is here to help you navigate the Updated Communication Rules 😁
Just don't… 😂
Per the IMSA Certification Program Policies Manual (CPPM):
“Students are prohibited from contacting the International Office regarding exam results.”
(Yes, really. We checked twice to make sure it wasn’t satire.)
Please direct all questions through us 😁
About Phase Academy staff will quickly and happily assist you to make sure your concerns get to the right place 🤩
🟥 IMSA’s Official Enrollment Cutoff – 5-Day Window Only
Need to add a student? You’ve got a 5-day window. Period. End of discussion 😑
Once we cross that magic line, IMSA locks the roster and no one (not even me, armed with coffee & charm) can add new participants.
To ensure your student is included:
- Submit all names at least 5 days before class
- Double-check New vs Renewal
- If you’re unsure, DON’T GUESS!
IMSA doesn’t have the sunshiny temperament that I do, and they’ll just throw $35 fees at us until we behave 😂
After the 5-day cutoff (not 4. Not 4.75. IMSA is very firm on this),
IMSA’s system becomes a nuclear silo on lockdown 😂
🟥 The Accidental Enrollment Fee – IMSA’s New $35 Policy
The Accidental Enrollment Fee (A Modern Cautionary Tale)
IMSA now, at their discretion, charges a $35 fee when a student is enrolled incorrectly (New vs Renewal).
Whether the error is made by you or by me, the fee is billed directly to me — even if the student never takes the exam (because nothing says “customer service” like charging for an exam you didn’t take and a fee not backed by actual data).
Since we don’t pass along baseless penalties, please triple-check enrollment types before submitting. If there’s any doubt, just ask — we’re happy to help 😇
🟥 IMSA Quietly Raised Renewal Prices
The “Wait… That’s More Than Last Year” Update
In addition to the new $35 Accidental Enrollment Fee, IMSA has also increased individual renewal prices by $10 per certification.
This change was not announced to Sections or training providers and appeared only as a small update on IMSA’s website in a location most people never visit. So if your renewal total feels… different… you’re not imagining things 😐
These fees are set entirely by IMSA and are passed through at cost. About Phase Academy does not control, retain, or profit from them.
Current IMSA Individual Renewal Fees
| # of Renewals | Standard Fee | Member Discount | Member Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $90 | $40 | $50 |
| 2 | $120 | $40 | $80 |
| 3 | $140 | $40 | $100 |
| 4 or more | $150 | $40 | $110 |
We’re sharing this so you’re never caught off guard. Transparency beats surprise invoices every time 😊
🟥 How Do I Unlock an IMSA Identity & Verify a Student’s IMSA ID?
You’re independent and want to do things yourself 😊
Here’s the un-simple procedure to unlocking an IMSA identity 😂
To verify a student’s correct enrollment type (New vs Renewal) and avoid IMSA’s new fees, you’ll need their IMSA ID.
Go to our Help Desk page → FAQ → “How do I log in to my IMSA Profile?”
If after following the instructions nothing appears, don’t panic — Contact Us 😁
Your Friendly Neighborhood IMSA Guru’s 😊
Send us the student’s full name, and we’ll help 😊
This tiny step prevents most enrollment issues — and by extension, at least three of the other tiles on this page 😄
🟥 Need Your Students’ Enrollment Type? (New vs Renewal)
Need your students’ enrollment type? Of course you do — but why make it easy? 😂
How to Actually Get the Info (Spoiler: You Can’t 😂)
IMSA does not make students’ certifications publicly viewable —
those records being national secrets & all 😂
We assume the vault is guarded by a dragon made of paperwork 😂
The only non-IMSA people who can see a student’s true status are:
- ✔ the student (if they can access their profile)
- ✔ me — because IMSA expects Certification Chairs to be miraculous — & we are 😇
So if you need to know whether your employee is a New Certification, Renewal, or somehow misplaced in an alternate Exam Universe, just email 😊
🟥 About That Mysterious Scheduling Blackout in Our Schedule…
Why is there a big empty space in our schedule?
Don’t worry — there’s nothing wrong with us (outside the usual 😂).
IMSA prohibits sections from running programs 30 days before or 7 days after their conference, as running classes anywhere in the hemisphere might (in their own words) “interfere with conference participation.”
We will resume normal programming when it’s not prohibited. In the meantime, thank you for your patience.
Please enjoy this brief intermission brought to you by “Policies We Didn’t Write™” 😂
🟥 IMSA Values You ❣️ (Truly. Deeply. Actuarially. Existentially.)
A Friendly Reminder of Your Value to IMSA International ❣️

Every course you take, renewal you complete, and certification you maintain supports the operation, staffing, and ongoing programs of the organization.
Your voice carries weight (as it should), so remember: your feedback to IMSA leadership truly matters to a group built on your participation.
